Intensives are immersions into the partnership that aids in de-escalating a crisis or challenging moments that can help partners learn how to navigate the crisis and have a roadmap to relationship restoration.  Above, all, they help each partner have hope.

What is an intensive?

An intensive is a period of counseling over 3-5 days that allows you, with the assistance of a trained therapist, to get to the root of your issues.
Weekly relationship counseling is quite effective.  But, when a partnership is in crisis or feeling challenged, stuck and overwhelmed, the start-and-stop of weekly sessions can make it difficult to get to the root cause—you come in, unpack the week, feel hopeful, go home, experience more conflict, hope goes away.

An intensive allows you the gift of uninterrupted time, which allows you to make the progress you want. Many couples report that an intensive of 3-5 days was about a year’s worth of counseling!
If you find yourselves stuck in patterns and cycles of conflict, feel distressed, or on the brink of separation, an intensive could be right for you.

Intensive are programs designed for couples in crisis whereby a couple spends 1-3 days in Intensive Relationship Counseling.

Intensives are not for everyone.

Intensives are not a fast cure. In therapy, there is no such thing as a quick fix for issues that took a long a long time to form.  You may require additional support after the intensive.  My intention with intensives is to help you get to the root of your problem and put your relationship on a road of healing and connection.
Both partners must be emotionally stable to attends intensives. Clients with untreated personality disorders, mood disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder or who are in danger of harming themselves, may not be good candidates for Intensives.

There are limited number of spaces available for our Intensives. To be considered for an Intensive, please call for a free telephone consultation. After our initial call, you will be sent additional paperwork prior to the Intensive.
